  • And the carry-on baggage should not exceed 45 linear inches (22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches), including the handles and the wheels provided it easily fits in the overhead bin or under the seat in front.
  • Soft garment bags measuring up to 51 inches can also be considered a carry-on item, and pets can be taken as a carry-on item too, but additional charges would be levied. The pets can only be kept under the seat and never in the overhead bin.
  • Diaper bags (one for every child), strollers, child safety seats, breast pumps, medical and mobility devices, and small soft-sided coolers holding breast milk are allowed onboard. They are not considered as your carry-on baggage.

Overweight Baggage

American Airlines or AA Airlines will charge fees for bags that are greater than the standard 50 pounds, and it is as listed below;

  • 51 -70 pounds: USD 100.00 extra per bag, waived for all First Class, Business Class, Advantage Executive Platinum, and Oneworld Emerald passengers.

AA will charge for any baggage between 62-125 inches, with $200.00 for US domestic, the Caribbean, Central America (except Panama), Mexico, and Transpacific. $150.00 for Panama, South America, and Transatlantic.
